first shoot

This was my first shoot overall it was a useful experience , all be it not as productive as i hoped , but a step that needed to be taken so i could develop my idea, storyboard and look of the film.

The initial POV worked well had an authentic look and produced something i intended to create - a mysterious silhouette type action that took the viewer away from the static student like shot of which most coursework based productions are linked with. This shot hopefully showed a wider range of camera skills and ingenuity. The tone is slightly dark i adjusted ways to enhance the natural light which ( with a little luck) gave it an authentic film contrast, around the room i placed masculine objects with famine objects close, one to reflect a relationship of some kind but also a conflict between the repetition of red and white each connoting a difference one power one innocent. The idea of using colour to convey mood came from the Japanese director ............... he would use light and colour within the background to portray the mood felt by the audience for example a dark blue would represent a sadness or a deep red for anger.

The other shots will be discarded for reasons such as the narrative was not well presented the light was to dark and the static shots used pulls away from the quality and continuity i want to use. From looking at this first shoot i then planned a different opening and storyline which would portray the concept and a higher level "If Walls Could Speak". By looking at Todorov theory on narrative where he proposes this structure equilibrium - disruption - resolution - re equilibrium this theory is mainly used in action films such as Mission Impossible, i wanted to change these series of linear events to start with the end then move to the event the disruption then find a mid ground between resolution and re equilibrium leaving the film open to thought discussion.

My film storyline:
present time repercussions
The event causing these repercussions
immediate effects of event
